Everybody, let alone a Medical Transcriptionist, comes across many a homophone. As in any language, language of medicine also has homonyms galore. Unless a Medical Transcriptionist is very alert and cautious, his/her work will be nothing but heap of bloopers.
What sense can a sentence like this convey – The patient walks with a limb as he has a stare step-type fracture?! At a mere glance, one will have many doubts. Where are the other limbs gone? Why and where does the patient stare at? Such sentences will, of course, provide fun and humor to the others.
