A Professional Medical Transcriptionist, at any cost, is bound to keep the personal information contained in the Medical Records confidential. There can be instances wherein the carbon copy of the record, by mistake, is sent to another physician whose name is somewhat similar. Even if it is sent to a physician, it is obviously a breach of medical ethics as it leads to the disclosure of the personal information. Even an inadvertent mistake may cause irreparable loss. Professionalism is to be reflected in the totality of one’s work.
